Expressive Arts Therapy - details

 

Do you dread social situations?

Do you frequently fret about being judged?

Do you worry about saying the “wrong” thing?

 

This Group is for you!

Sunday 2-3:30 pm* 3700 Bloor St. West * $90/6-week Session

 

A fun approach to examining common issues faced by people struggling with social phobias or shyness including:  

 

 

Anxiety

Loneliness

Risk Taking

Self-Esteem

Perfectionism

Assertiveness

Containing Panic

Dealing with Conflict

 

Expressive Art Therapy:

·       Arts-based psychotherapy; not art classes 

·       No previous art experience is necessary or expected

·       Fun groups, using arts-based structured exercises

·       Uses five art modalities; visual, movement, drama, music & poetry

·       Designed to help you learn more about yourself 

·       Helps with putting your story ‘out there’ in conventional ways 

·       Uses the arts to remove yourself from the focus of attention

·       Offers new ways of communicating

·       Can lead to increased self-confidence

·       Processes new awareness in discussion to help develop insight

·       Gives you new ideas on how to overcome issues
